Reading Safari magazines expose students to varied text types on a single reading level and topic. Spanning guided reading levels A-W, the magazine six-packs can be used for guided reading instruction or in the classroom library. The engaging topics include grade-level-appropriate science, social studies, health, and other cross-curricular content. Each magazine contains a fiction selection, a nonfiction article, a poetry selection, and a play, along with a “Safari Word Power” page for building vocabulary, and links by topic to Reading Safari Encyclofacts and fiction books. Free teacher notes with instructional focuses for guided reading and literacy activities are included with each magazine six-pack. Quantities of six-packs vary by grade level (see below) and optional magazine add-on packs may be purchased.
