  • The 8-part battery in the Grades K–2 kit assesses oral language, benchmark text level/comprehension, oral reading fluency, print concepts, phonemic awareness, letter recognition, letter-sound correspondence, and word knowledge. The 4-part battery in the Grades 3–5 kit assesses benchmark text level/comprehension, oral reading fluency, vocabulary, and letter-sound correspondence (advanced), with an optional oral language assessment.
  • Mondo’s K–2 and 3–5 multiple formative assessment measures assess critical knowledge and higher order thinking. Resulting formative assessment data leads to the improvement of targeted instruction for students at all levels of ability.
  • Bookshop Assessment provides multiple assessments for universal screening, diagnostic information-gathering, instructional placement, and progress monitoring.

Benchmark Text Cards (Levels J–W)
Benchmarking is the process that determines a student’s instructional text level, or the level a student can read with 90¬–94% accuracy and comprehend. A reading record is administered in a one-on-one setting, with teachers recording reading behaviors. Comprehension of fiction and nonfiction texts is assessed after taking the reading record.
